A new render of a Babylon Street (WIP)

I got a new ideea while wathching my first image (the one that will be the final camera angle) - I saw that the Babel Tower is tilted to the left.

There are a lot of legends about the destruction of this tower - even mentioned in the Bible.

So my new ideea:
I'll make the tower degerously tilted to the left - because it's the first building of such a magnitude they try to build. Someware they made a mistake so the whole building is in danger of collapsing. At the end they try to correct it and built a strait tower to try and tilt it the other way.

So even as it is built the tower carries the seeds of its own destruction.

Anyway the next time I'll post a new image of the Tower it will look something like that.

Thanks!

I will try to do it filled with people, in all its might.

Maybe after I finish this one I will try to do the abandoned version with the tower collapsed.

i am placing my bet on you to win this contest, very good progress.

i like the modelling and textures..

the trees look nice in their rows there, put some bushes to cover the ground, to make it more lush, it will look even better..

Excelent work and very good progress. Keen to see the final result

P.s. The base of the statue at the right looks too Roman. Something more Babylonian needed, don't you think so?

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

Don't worry the picture is far from being complete - I have'n placed even 10% of the plants I want - hope I can render the final pic...

I guess you're right about the statue base... but truth be told i have no ideea what a babylonian statue base should look like.
I'll search the net though (if you have an example please show it to me)

Actually it shouldn't be strictly Babylonian as you are developing the lost world but better to stick to one architecture style. So is often useful to have some culture as a basement. You can check everything related to Assyrian and Mesopotamian art for your style.

As for statues Mesopotamians used to build large and massive statues:

Mostly they were built-in:
http://www.slowlane.net/travel/photo...esopotamia.jpg - I like these gates. Maybe they'd be useful for you.

They also prefered high statues to small ones with big bases:

Hope this information will be useful for your project cause I like it's scale and detailedness.

I just decided to make another two statues for my Babylonian city - this time more babylon style I hope.

Good god :) You want to render the full pic :D ??? I have problems with adding light and some new models but you need to think to change the view because it's to wide to render or render with the layer metod.

Anyway good job man , i always have problem with the scale :)

You're right! I alwready have big problems rendering the pic and I haven't even put in half the buildings and plants and stuff I want.
I'm still searching a method to render the wide view but I did't find it yet.
I alwready tried several views and they look nice and I'm going to post them all but for the final pic I'm not gonna give up - it's the wide view or no view at all!
Hope I find a way to render though...
