Rep Power: 4 ![]() | "The Lost World" - Babylon Hi all. Love the theme of the contest so I'll take a shot at it. As you see in the title it's about Babylon in all its might. I was searcing for a grand repesentation of a Lost World. First i thought "the Piramyds" - but then I thought of Babylon. A lot of legends around this place. It was there that Tower of Babel was built, it's the place of one of the seven wonders of the ancient world - The Hanging Gardens and it has a great entrance - The Ishtar Gate. (actually an inner gate) I'm trying to do a different representation of the Babel Tower from what I've seen before - I don't know... still looks kind of strange - needs a lot of work. Anyway this is only work in progress so every comment is wellcomed... Thanks. |

| still hooked to real life | Looking nice. However, I think the main cylindrical mastaba shaped building (which I take is the tower of Babel) should be taller than the vertical element with the conical roof. That, and that the zygurat looks more like a mesoamerican pyramid. Sure, they are quite similar, but they do have subtle differences, which fortunately, are more available than the information on the tower of Babel. This scene has lots of potential, I will be on the lookout for its progress. Good luck! |

Rep Power: 4 ![]() | Just finished my first atempt of a zygurat. C&C are most wellcomed! I was actually thinking on putting some plants on top (plamtrees or something) - so it becomes a combination between a zygurat and the Hanging Gardens. I'm not sure if it's a good ideea though... (What do you think reallifeaddict is it a good zygurat or should I go whit the classical form?) |
