So, my theme is a mystical place of a peaceful land that floats in the sky, surrounded by clouds and a warm light. Anyway, I have the idea in my head, not sure if you understand. I've thought about it for some time, and I think I'll make this "piece of land in the sky" a place where Gods used to live, and not mortals. This (I think) makes more sense on why the sky is floating :p . Over the time, mortals (that sounds kind of morbid, I know) stopped believing in their gods, and started to be more responsible with their lives, not asking for the help of the so powerful Gods for every problem they had, or if they needed advices. To punish them, the Gods decided that the mortals don't deserve to see them anymore and their kingdoms. So, they made them selfs invisible. With the pass of time, and the evolution of the humans society and cultures, the Gods became legends. No one knows if they existed, if they really punished the humans, or if they are still there in the skies, watching us from them beautiful lands. --- Now, I'm not sure how many renders of the world I'm supposed to make (one or more), but I will concentrate more on the architecture and surroundings (plants, trees etc.) . So this won't be just a "piece of earth with a castle, hanging in sky" ! :p Hope this makes sense now. I'll post more concepts soon. Waiting for your opinions. Cheers! |

Rep Power: 0 | It is a good idea if you are giong to try it...there have been many people to do the floating island thing...I think if you are going to do this, try to focus on a particular area of the city...it would be neat if you can get a shot of the city looking off the edge of the island... |

Rep Power: 0 | don't worry about copyright issues...yours is original enough for yourself. I've seen the floating island idea in many galleries over the years. You find many people who used Bryce had 3d floating islands...myself included. I think there was a D & D cover with a floating island specifically on the cover. Only worry about copyrights if you copy or use the picture directly...this is your own idea and it will continue to be your own as long as you expand and create off of this idea. BTW: I didn't mean to generalize...you kind of backed me in a corner asking to show you these people hehe...whoops on my part. :) P.S. Good luck in the contest |
