I dont spend two hours of my time entering a "competition" just for fun. Is it a "competition" or "post your models for fun"? I enter to win. It's just obvious that some people think cheating is acceptable. Like I said, lose the hour limit and let people spend as much time as they want on a model for the given week. That will atleast give those that feel they need to submit obvious, overtime models a chance to go up against others who can also submit a more than 2 hour model. It's really the only fair way to do it. If your gonna call it just for fun then stop making someone a winner.

Thumbs up

To some extent, I agree with Bloody - Lose the hour limit, and shorten the time of challenge from a week to about 4 days and let people spend as much time as they want on a model for the given days and time! :super:

but then I thought that this was a speed modelling challenge but many guys post their models with no details as such It was made in only ten mins! we dont want that early! and stryker please come up with interesting topics please! I hope you consider these suggestions! :deal:

Sure, it is speed modeling, so drop it to one or two days per week and give the rest of the week voting time. Doing a model in one day or two while working and living like a normal human is in my opinion "speed modeling". I know all the models I typically do take more than one or two days of work.

Thanks for having an open mind Real 3d. I like these competitions, I just want them to be fair. I have everyones best intentions in mind when I bring this stuff up.

2 days is too short period. There will be not so many works. Or you want to choose the winner by the poll from 2 or 3 works? And one more: Tigrenka made her work in 2 hours.

Two days probably is too short, I dont know.

I dont believe it, you can, i dont. Agree to disagree I suppose. Again, to set the record straight. She is not the only one that is questionable, just happens to be taking the brute of it. Its a nice model and even better render but...just can't fathom it being modeled in two hours.

Unless you were sitting there the whole time, you are just speculating as I am. We can both be proved right or wrong but it will never happen. The competition just needs fixed.

No, I said that I exactly know, that Tigrenka's modelling time was less that 2 hours.

Unhappy C'mon

Hey, now you guys are quarrelling! Here is my final suggestion and after that I'll be on to the modelling stuff of the new challenge!

For Stryker - Please Change the rules! You probably wont get good works in 2 or so hours! result would be that some guys do take more than 2 hours to model and they say under '90 minutes'! that's not fair at all! Lose the hour limit! make it to 3 days! and please have interesting topics!

For Others - Please post sensible, fun, interesting and Short suggestions for the Speed Modelling Challenge in the Suggest a Challenge thread, otherwise this would be called 'Speed-Modelling-then-guys-quarelling-challenge' !

Thank You :yaya:

First time poster, way long time lurker. Having said that, Stryker keep the 2 hour
limit. Speed modeling should be more about the model and less about the texturing. If you want to adjust the rules make it so they have to do a clay render and show wire from a screen capture, all others will be disqualified.

By the way congrats to all the winners.

To Bloody,
I can understand your opinion, but this is how most other sites handle speed modeling, not saying you are wrong about some of the modeling times. The whole idea behind the challenge is to recreate a real world scenerio of concept to a rough model or not so rough one in the time allowed.
Just my two cents worth.

Stryker keep up the good work
