Rep Power: 0 ![]() | hi in the last weeks i've watched the works of the artists posting pictures for the contests - in the first time the main reason i've come here is to 'realize' that 3d modelling is not easy, and because i wanted to get bit closer to these things, without actually doing it, and learn how to appreciate people's modells in the right way but today i've come to a point that i don't really understand, you give away prizes for the winners - and that's a really good thing, but i'm a bit confused today when i've saw that amin won the last contest.. (sorry amin, but you don't touched my heart ;) .. i don't have expert knowledge in any modelling environment, and i'm not an expert in 3d graphics - but i do know that how things work in the backgrounds -- simply put: i'm a programmer so i look at the images, and i want to be as objective as possible, i search for small errors(edges etc), i'm tring to catch the good things in the image, and i try to push the object into a natural/artifical environment where it can fit ( you can have a good model - but if it don't fits anywhere, just in mary poopin's world - i think it's clear enough ) i've thinked till now that the results are selected by professional members, and are based on observations like my pro/con analysis. in the last times i've reached a point to agree with the competition's committe on the result - till today.. e-design's work is fine, it can decorate a larger park nicely - with it's nice early xx. century look but..(i know that this is speed modelling, and to don't expect much)...but amin's work is a good example which don't fit in any environment - and it doesn't have any architectural design - it's a big clothesline (if i wan't to be precise) with a burning hearth in the middle. and the worst in all of this, that it's looks so harmless, fragile, not something that can hold the line against the force of nature, especially the gravity, which would tear out the heart first time the building scaffolds are removed. no offense amin - try to catch the real meaning all of this and don't hang me on the south gate ;) setheo |

| Registered User | Guysss i didnt Choose my Self !!!!!! Did i ? i have just done my best modeling and the best concept i found the judge is R@IDER and STRYker , ask them about this my idea was to have a strange background like a love world or smth so this could fit there as a lamppost !! it cant fit in the real world for sure but if a wanted to make all those strange things and stuffs , so that you could have understand my lamppost it would take more than 5 Hr work !!!! so i just done the lamppost , i thought you will understand my idea by your own , but u did not i think i will fit better under concept award R@IDER is better if you change the winner place so there will be no more problems about this Thnx
