| new2CG | Hey! Some time ago I asked you when you started that cool CG-Stuff but now I want to know how you started it. Did you buy a book and did the things written there or did you use tutorials on the Internet or what? Well, I don't know where to start at. I bought a book about 3ds max 7 and I already used it but I forget some of the things shown there when I'm done with the section and I don't have anything to say about "I did it!". There are just some tiny descriptions how to use a specific tool and what's it good for. You know, I got some (a few) Photoshop skills and I learned nothing of that from a book or something. I was just doing crap with that program and some of that "crap" didn't even look bad. Greets, Alex PS: My English-skills aren't the best. Sorry for that. ;) |

(it is a hard time wen you dont understand every thing but wen you gett over it you see a space of posibilities) then i found this forum made some friends. | productions | Um, it was back when I was 14, I started to want to be a filmmaker, and I thought 3d animation would be great, because of the advantages of effects. And I learned about the program from a friend. I then stopped using it till I was about 17, when I started taking a course in school. Then I really got into it, and started looking up tutorials on websites like this. I still think I learnt way more with the folks around here than I did in 2 years at school with 3dmax

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi guys; I am a fan of cars since I was a child, I used to spend lot of time making drawings and sketch of my favorites cars. When I had a computer, a 286 with 4 mb of ram and a hard disk of 40 mb I started drawing on it, of course cars. I strated with paintbrush and then I migrate to powerpoint to make vectorial graphics. Then I knew that 3d tools exists and with an upgrade of my computere I got AutoCad and I start with solid modeling using splines, extrusion and booleans commands, this is my first work using that technique: ![]() Then, looking for smoother and cleaner results I started modeling using surfaces, with AutoCad. You set a wireframe with splines and make ruled surfaces, and the ones with four curves, and so on. That was the last effort with AutoCad: ![]() Then I started using 3ds max mostly as a renderer and to make simple animations, migrating from AutoCad is difficult to start modeling there but lately on 2004 I enconunter this site and I found new ways to make 3d cars so I learn to use polygonal modeling. This is my first 3dploy modeled car in 3dsmax: ![]() Now I am looking for new techniques and practicing to improve my skills. And this is my last job of february 2006: ![]() Rage_ele
