Rep Power: 10    | Houdini Hi every one. i have gotten over a program caled Houdini. and i wondered if some one here have heard of it or have used it them self. on there home page they say that the program have bin used in manny disney 3danimasjons. and in a interveiw they say many maya users have gotten over to Houdini becaus they like it better. Rep Power: 8 | I dont know about this software, if Im right, to get all of these features (Modeling, Animation, Motion Editting, Characters, Particles, Lighting,Texturing, Mantra Renderer and Compositing) you have to buy the full "Visual Effects/ full Pipeline" package, which costs a whopping,insane amount of $17'000 US. I dont know who would do that, I mean, Max comes with all of that, and if you dont like the default renderer of Max you can easily buy a plugin for about $1000US. All in all, with max and possibly a plugin or 2, your still looking at less than $5000 or around that. $17'000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS RIDICULOUS, I'll stick with the pioneers

Rep Power: 10 | if i'm not remembering wrong. then 3ds max 8 some place cost 34.000$ thats crazy but it just need to be somthing extra on that one.

Rep Power: 10  | Houdini is a powerful tool...there is a production company here convert from max to Houdini..and i might say the quality is good.check out the website for sample animation = http://www.mfx.st/projects.php?page=p_award-winning 3ds max worth about RM15,000 in here.. |
