Talking Hey guys, I have a kind of non-digital art question :P

Hey, I'm new here so I was hoping to meet a few peeps who could help me progress in the world of art. Currently I'm a HS student in a IB HL Art program. In this program you create your own theme and develop finals through it. Most of the time, I draw my finals with markers or pencil. So, recently I decided that some of my finals will be 3D, maybe photoshop and some real paintings.
Now, the trouble I'm having. I'm familiar with many kinds of media, yet I don't know the best (real life) media to create photo-realistic finals. For example of one of my pieces- I would like to create a four winged angel, called Salene or Diana Lucifer. She is the greek goddess, also roman, for the moon and also titled the bringer of light. She'll be wearing a semi-transparent toga, blue, and here face will be curiously looking between her hands at a glowing orb. The moon will be showin in half the background. Anyways, I could go on lol, though that's boring. I'm new to using layers, like painting a base color then painting overtop. The idea is too be able to pull off a highly detailed picture, to imprint the picture in my mind onto paper.
Does anyone have any suggestions? :P
-Storm
P.S. Sorry for the long reading lol

yes man i have
listen: YOU WANNA DO THAT WITH PHOTOSHOP
now, you should know how to draw.next, youv gotta have tablet ( i strongly suggest Wacom Intuos3 )
1.draw it on paper
2.scan and import as background in photoshop
3.make new layer
4.get brush and draw over you scan picture
5.later youll have to do other layers for that semi-transparent toga etc.
6.when your all done just erase scan picture (the 1st layer)

-- i recomend you call layers by name and get organized ; makes work so much easier
-- also listen: layers are incredibly easy i learned it in 1 hour, honest
--THIS IS IMPORTANT : google for photoshop tutorials and learn the basics if you dont know
also look tutorials where people draw also characters like that chick you wanna do

best luck post your questions or doubts
P.S.Sorry for the long reading ^^

Thanks emi, I am going to do a few photoshop pieces. In fact, I do have some planned, so good advice :D The thing is with this one I don't want it to be digital art. I can draw very well, yet I want to know what medias in real life can pull off the realism that you can get in photoshop?

i see...
well photoshop can make your drawing skill a lot more cooler cuz it has blinding options etc.
you can easily import your drawing to it and make a masterpiece
look at this link for an example:http://www.cgarena.com/gallery/2d/2d.html

I must say, those are indeed impressive. Yet in my program I'm doing many medias, so that will be one lol. Though, I need to find some real life ones that can pull off the effect.
Ive been thinking of painting on glass layers so I can get depth into my painting.
