Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Im back! My computer broke, well i bought a new one, but had to take HD and processor out of the old one! So i had to reinstall windows and evrething! But now i have 7800 GTX in the new one, and its alot better in 3D than my old 9200SE (booooo!). Still have to install Vray and Brazil so this render is on Max'es scanline system. About 1200 faces so far, more to come soon! |

| Registered User | Very nice v_nitro! Hey, may I ask how you do your HDRI mapping, or just the material you're using? I have never been very good with them, and for some reason, the tutorials I use never work. This material here is awesome, and I was wondering if you could explain how you made it?

Rep Power: 8 ![]() | Thank you Chris! I use Brazil with 3DS Max, in Vray thers a different way but thats Vray... In Max go to Rendering -> Enviroment and add a new bitmap material into the "Enviromental Map" slot. Open "Material Editor" pick an empty material slot, and click "Get Material" icon (a small globe with an arrow toward it), on the new popup select "Scene" on the left side and then pick the map you added to "Enviromental Map" slot earlyer. Now load your favouirite HDRI into that bitmap and tweak it till it looks good  Car paint is Brazil Basic material with falloff map in the reflection slot, as i learned from shadowdude  Hope it helps Chris! Im not the best tutor im afreid. Last edited by v_nitro; 10-23-2005 at 07:32 PM.. |
