Creating Depth Maps

ALOHA

I wish to make a stereo image using Cinema 4D - I am new to this program

I have a 3D mesh for a sculpture. I want to make a depth map to make a stereo pair using the distort filter in Photosholp

IF I could get an image where the brightness at each point is proportional to the depth of the first elements of the mesh, the from surfaces of all the objects visible, or at least my main object, then this would be a depth map.

Is there some way to do this in Cinema 4D? Perhaps there is a way to list all the front polygon positions and massage the data from there?

Any advice appreciated.

Perhaps there are other software that could do this?
