Talking A bottle of rum...

Hiho,

I'm new here. ;)

Thought I give the bottles a try... wasn't sure what to do with the rest of the 3 hours... so I added some small scene, because glas needs stuff it can refract and reflect to look good. Hope thats okay. :)

The bottle was modelled with poly modelling (started from single polygon which was extruded, cuted, etc.). After the base form was done I made a copy and scaled it smaller to get proper thickness... connected both parts and added the screwy stuff at the top. Copied again and removed unnecessary polygons and added a surface to get the liquid. The cover was done from 2 simple cylinders (one for the base and one for the grip).

The scene is done mostly by primitves too (glas -> cylinder, room -> box with some extruded and deleted polys, the plants are just single polygons with an alpha texture).



model time (total): 1h 1m
model time (bottle+cover only): 38m
software: Cinema4D
renderer: scanline
textures/light: 1h 30m
rendertime: 1h 36m 29 (on an 1.4ghz/510mb g4 mini mac)
postwork: 20m

Some questions before I forget: I see everyone is posting 2 pics (render+wire). Is it allowed to merge them to one file (both render and wire on one pic)? I also didn't found a rule for the image and filesize. Are there no limitations here (800x600 100KB f.ex)?
