Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Ok, I'll post what I worked on, but I'm not happy with it ![]() I started by making the wheels, who were done pretty fast, and looked good (I think). Then I started on the body... First try, I started out box modeling with a turbo smooth on top. But after an hour or more of trying to make the panels and winows look good, and the overall shape starting to look like a pumpkin, I gave up, and threw the model away! It was ugly and I if I wanted to keep to the timeframe, there was not enough time to save it. Second try, I started out by making a spline from a ref-pic of the entire body, and then put an extrude modefier on top. It started out better than the first try, so I happily set out cutting, welding, chamfeing and cutting some more, to get the shape right. BUT, after quite some time of this I ended out with a very poorly structured model, with a great deal of small areas with clups of vertices making smoothing ugly and twisted. So out with that model also! Last try, I ended up making 4 splines and extruding them, to make it look like some sort of paneling (rough, and not very pretty, but so far the best shot). Windows where made out of ChamferBoxes, because I was sick of trying to keep it all in one shape. At that point I didn't want to work anymore one it, so I rushed the rest with just a bunch of primitives. Modeling: (First try ~1.5h) (Second try ~ 1.5) Final and last try ~ 1.5h Texturing: N/A Rendering: 4:02 Min Software: 3ds Max 2009 Basically I overshot the time limit with a total of 4.5h spent... Damn. This was very hard challenge for me.
