nice entry traspies01! That's the one I want for my holidays :D
You should try to make your render a bit lighter. I dont know how it works in maya, but with 3ds max & mental ray I use an almost white diffuse material and a skylight. Then set the indirect illum. to high and 1 light bounce.

I was working on my logo for the past few weeks and didn't have time to get to this comp. until just tonight. glad you guys waited till this sunday but I'm sure others are not.
