| Alex Warrington 3DS | thanks, well see sometime i look at a competition and think, YEAH ill enter that in the week sometime... then my girlfriend drags me around everywhere sorting stuff and going to hers and shopping and stupid things and never youst to get round to entering... now im gonna try and be first on in... in every competition. ![]()

| Alex Warrington 3DS | I pretty much did this: 1. Helix spline <<< Perfectness 2. Extrude Edges 3. Weld Edges 4. FFD Box - Shaping 5. Edit Poly - (half sphere to cap top) - mouth of shell extrusion - loads more tweeking 6. FFD shaping again 7. Shell 8. Meshsmooth Im no genius :P

| Alex Warrington 3DS | spiral I am not a maya user however im sure running a script like: Spiral May help you create a helical spline. If not could you not use a cylinder and then simply move each edge / verticies upwards or downwards by a set amount of each edge around the parameter. Rep Power: 0 ![]() | might be easier to use a spline, move the points into a spiral, and then use the rest of ur method. tons faster. im not sure ill have time to participate, but ill at least give the spiral a go. thanks alex |
