Rep Power: 11 ![]() | SPEED MODELING CHALLANGE No.24 (Gold Mine) Hi and Welcome to 3dm3 Speed Modelling Competition A new Speed Modelling Challenge is ready to start! Subject: Gold Mine Description: This time a little bit vague topic to free your fantasy, imagination and humour. Hope you'll like it! Modeling Time: 4 hours max Start: Monday, 12th March at 00:00 am GMT 0 End: Saturday, 17th March at 11:59 pm GMT 0 PLEASE READ GENERAL RULES Post your entries in this thread! Here are some quick rules if you guys feeling lazy to read and ready to model - Competition is open to everyone and anyone, worldwide - Model must be created by a single artist - Multiple submissions are permitted either - Your submission should be a model created especially for this challenge and not one you have previously created for own purpose. - Entries using models which are not original will be removed and the Poster will be disqualified for the current competition - Take your time and model, do not make haste to post a 10 minute model! - Describe how you created your model, references used, Methods or Techniques, This is not necessary but might make your chances better to win and for others to learn, after all, we do it for learning and Fun! - Always Cast your Vote on the Poll system, Thank You IMPORTANT CHANGE IN RULES, click here Main Technical terms: - You can use any 3d Package - Attach Only 2 images (Rendered and Wireframe) - For Wireframe, ONLY use Screengrab Process (PrintScreen) from Perspective View ONLY, No other methods of Wire Rendering allowed! - Do not forget to post your Modelling time - Texturing is allowed but not necessary - You can also post WIP Images but do not Overload the Forum! Rep Power: 7 ![]() | Gold Mine! Here in my impression of a Gold Mine. It took about 2h30min to do so I decided not to use textures and make it look cartoonish. Hope you like it. 3ds max 8 - 2h 30min texture - about 5 min (ink'n'paint) render - 30s |

| There is my golden mine. Modelling time 3:30 Just try to make it look like some old forbidden golden mine, somewhere far far away. And it was some test for my modelling abilities, it helps to understand what things cost more time than should and you can think about how to improve it, so it's fun and useful challenge.
