Turtle Render - image planes

hey..im following a DT dvd of the jetbike and I purchased Turtle Render and this is my first render..i tweaked the settings a bit and played around..but no matter what I do..the image planes always show in my renders...

here is the render - http://img99.imageshack.us/img99/229...eturtlebu1.jpg

see at the top the image planes are visible..how do i turn them off?

also..does anyone know why the image is so bright?

Hi man, how are you doing?

those image planes that you are using as reference, are they just planes with a lambert assigned with the picture (if that is so you should assign them to a layer so you dont pic the refplane everytime you work...) or you did: view -> image plane -> import image ?
if its just a plane with a texture material on it you should be able to turn it off just by selecting it and pressing ctrlH (or turning the layer visibility off or transp.), if the image was imported in the camera it will be visible and rendered to that camera, if you dont want to see the image you could, in the attribute of the camera go to "imagePlane1" tab and choose display mode: none
that way it wont appear in your render and neither in your viewport.

my guess would be the lights intensity or the rmaterial of the floor... one way to see the lights of the scene is going to the outliner and selecting them from there... if you have many lights and want to knock all them down at same time you can you the "Attibute Spread Sheet" under window pulldown menu and general editors...

Hope that information was useful man, and feel free to ask your questions, we are all to help.
