Problem with shadow

I have created a lamp and I am facing difficulty in creating its light and shadow. In the picture 1, the shadow of lamp top is too dark that walls around it cannot be seen. To remove this problem I turned the color of shadow gray, in which result walls around can be seen but color of shadow suddenly changes, speciall on the roof. Although I used filter size maximum 5 but it made little difference. On the floor there is also a poligonal shadow of the top of lamp stand that shouldn't be. Its seems like there are two colors on Floor and roof. Someone please let me know how to fix it.
