Question Particles ( points ) problem

When i choose POINTS as Particle render type, they are not visible in Rendered preview. Cloud, or any other Render type are OK, but not Points. What to do? This is probably a trivial problem, but i do not know how to solve it.

Hi man, how are you?

are you sure you are using mentalray?
because with or without light the mentalray render the particles right...
if you are sure that you are using mentalray properly than i suggest you check on "partcile (n#)" tab for the attributes (crl a with the particles selected) and at: mental ray -> flags
you can hit derive from maya or toggle the options, such as visible (the first one),
you could go at the mental ray (at render options) and choose in quality presets the "fine trace"
it brights up the points... it takes longer than the "draft" too.
i am uploading some pictures (or at least tring - its giving "infalid file" warning) of what i mean, and the difference between the draft and the fine trace quality options so you can see...
