Rep Power: 0 ![]() | omg which one!!! Ok so I am trying to find a 3d modeling program and I have chosen between Maya and 3ds Max, I know there is much discussion about this but for my specific needs I will be using it for both animation and artistic things like hair water fur ect. I did notice many people here like 3ds better, why is that? I am really stumped because there seem to be quite a few +s for each, if you guys can help me that would be great. Thats my first question, but also could u give me links to good beginner books on amazon or something for which ever program u feel is the best, because I feel that will be the easiest way to learn, Thanks Last edited by odinwar; 10-15-2007 at 11:51 PM.. |

| Member | If you like animation and hair/fur etc. Maya is a better choice since it has more controls over these things. 3DS Max is easier to use, and can find lots of tutorials (a bit more than Maya, but Maya still have many tutorials). I don't use any book to learn 3DS Max, and here are some tutorial sites that I can recommend you to read. I think the tutorials in these sites are better than books. www.tutorialized.com www.cgtutorials.com www.3dtotal.com www.evermotion.com www.oman3d.com and this site. Thanks :) |
