"Off in viewport" in Maya?

Hi all:),

I have seen in 3ds Max to turn off a modifier in viewport

Is there any similar method in Maya to turn off the modifier(only in viewport)

so that we can modify the simple low polygon mesh, at the same time with smoothen result in rendering.

Is there any way to achieve this?

Thanks for any help

I'm not too deep into maya, but I've seen and read a ton of resources, and haven't heard of it. I think because the way that 3ds applies them to where you can turn it on and off and maya has the history it's different enough to not be possible. Keep looking and asking though.

I'm not sure I understand your comment fully, but as far as I know there is not any way similar to 3DS Max.
