Unhappy image plane makes maya crash

im using maya 6.0 and everything works fine... but as soon as i use an imageplane everything just goes down in five or ten minutes is this just because of low ram (i have 512mb) or can you do anything about it?

Hey ivanh, It could maybe be that your image is high res. I don't think it's ram, cause I got the same amount and it dosn't lock up on me when I got imageplanes. One more question....do you make a plane and then attach an image onto that or do you use your camera view as your imageplane? That could also prove to be a factor. Hope I could be of any help. :)

Hi Millies
I think ive tried both, (View >> Image Plane >> Import Image... and i have tried View >> Image Plane (enviorment > create) and i have allso tried to load scenens from tutorials where other people have set up the imageplanes...)
what did you mean with "your image is high res" just that it was to big with to many pixels or that i could change the ressolution inside maya?

but anyhow, this is the message i recive shortly after i have set up my imageplanes and began modeling:
Fatal Error. Attempting to save in .....

Hi ivanh
Just a thought but, could it be low disk space or lack of disk access rights?

I’m using Maya 6 too, and haven’t had any problems.

Questions:
How big is your image?
And, what kind of video card do you have?
