Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Hi I'm fairly new to Maya (learning it 3 months) but I'm doing 3D for close to 10 years now, mostly 3dsmax, a bit of XSI. I'm kind of surprised by how slow responses are to Maya questions generally considering it is the most popular 3D animation software for Film and TV internationally, maybe everyone working with Maya is so busy they don't have time for forums/communities. Anyway I found a really good book for people who already have 3D experience (intermediate/advanced) with other programs, its called Mastering Maya 7/8.5. The only drawback is the black and white images in the book are a bit difficult to see accurately. The best place to learn seems to be Digital Tutors.com, you can't beat colour video for clarity. Maya is a great 3D program but can be a little long-winded and non-user friendly sometimes, but once you get a little help or advice things can really move fast. |
