Rep Power: 0 ![]() | BLACK POLYGONS? ZBRUSH to MAYA Hi. Where did these black polygons come from and how can I get rid of them? I built the mesh in Maya and sculpt on it in ZBrush. The last time I moved it from ZBrush into Maya these black polygons appeared in random, bilaterally symmetrical locations throughout the mesh. If I go into the Attribute Editor and attempt to change color, all the polygons in the mesh change color except the black ones, which stay black. If I go into Faces mode and select a black polygon and delete it, then use Fill Hole to replace it, it is still black. If I delete a black polygon and use Append to Polygon ... it works. So, I have this labor intensive solution to converting the black polygons back into normal polygons but I sure would like a global solution and I sure would like to know what caused it in the first place. Thanks! ~S.~ |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Black polygon mesh Hi I'm fairly new to Maya but I'm also having a similar problem. The whole of my model is appearing black. It has no lambert assigned meaning it usually appears green. Also the ear of another model is appearing grey when it should have a checkerboard lambert over it. I have tried reimporting an earlier version of the first object but that too when imported is appearing black...any thoughts...I just tried the above with no success. Thanks |
