Hyperfocal Design Pty Ltd. have recently presented their new HDRI product range consisting of 26 extra high resolution HDRI sky textures.

New pack is a full set of 360 view images in three formats and three different sizes ready to be used in any 3d rendering application.

HDRI files in exr and hdr format are mainly used to achieve realistic reflections. Placing HDRI sky as a background allows you to use a dynamic exposure level, especially useful in animation simulating video footage. Also high dynamic range images are ideal to create realistic sky illumination if you are using one of GI renderers.

If your scene features no reflections and you do not need any of the benefits stated above, you can use one of the full size LDR jpg as a non dynamic background.

To optimize GI rendering speed you can use small HDRI in .exr and .hdr format for lighting that are also included in the package. This lighting HDRI comes unblurred, allowing you to blur it to a level of your choosing either in a 2D HDRI editor or within your 3D application.

Hyperfocal Design provided us with four HDRI’s for testing - two deep cloudy HDRIs and two incredible sunset HDRIs.

Use bright cloudy HDRI (top image) to achieve realistic daylight atmosphere bringing detailed sky background, deeply colored GI illumination and reflections in your scene.

Use dark gray HDRI (bottom) to create scary images of war or medieval battles.

Sunset HDRI would help you to receive beautiful and unforgettable images. You can use them for large scenes to underline details and volume of the scene.

Detailed sunset HDRI presented by Hyperfocal Design would also be ideal addition to your small scenes which present one or several objects.
