Hey firstly welcome to 3dm3 :D

And the answer to your question is there are many programs you can use to create cg however it takes a hell of a lot of practice to create excellent pieces of work i use 3ds max.

3ds max is a program by autodesk commonly used to create assets for games but can be used for many other things.

Maya is also an autodesk product this is more used for films don't ask why I don't know lol

Zbrush this is a excellent product you can sculpt models in 3d space and create some high detailed work if you know how to use it (company: Pixelogic)

blender: now this is a free program and i would recommend it to anyone who cant afford the big named brands. Its a top notch program and offers all the bits and bobs to get the job done i dont use it personally however i have watched a few tutorials in my time to know its pretty good.

I think that's it. I'am sure other 3dm3 members will correct me if I'am wrong however i would start off simple then move up like model stuff on your desk and then move up to bigger stuff that is more complex and if i where you i would use blender.

as for your transformer video, it takes practice. Get good enough and you will have an army of transformers falling out of the sky haha.
