Question Some general questions

I am still a newbie at this. I have been told that if you want to do 3d Modeling or animation of a person your picture should be in .tiff format because it is easier to work with and you a better quality picture verses a .jpg image. Most digital camera do .jpg. Are there digital camera out there that do .tiff images. I know .tiff images are usually larger in file size than a .jpg.

Does anybody know of a good digital camera that does .tiff?

Have I been told correctly about working with a .tiff image verses a .jpg image?

Any guidance in the correct direction would be grateful.
