I made some progress today. I changed the highlight from an area light to a spot light with barn doors partly closed. Maya doesn't have a linear light. This gives me the kind of highlight in the tutorial. Another thing I found is that my spot illuminating the back wall was too large and bright. This is flooding out the shadows of my objects. I still need to tweak that. Otherwise, I'm almost there. |
