| I'm trying to recreate your 3DM studio in Maya. I've made some good progress so far, but I'm still missing a couple of things. I hope your knowledge of 3DM can help me in Maya. See best render below.
1. I'm seeing the lit surfaces a lot in my mirrored ball. Could it be because of the shader I'm using on my walls? Right now I'm using blinn, although I used a lambert before with the same results.
2. Should I have all lights emiting both specular and diffuse?
3. I can't seem to get the highlight light to work. It's in the file for the image below, but it only seems to add an ambient light to the scene. I haven't played with that much, but if you have an idea, let me know!
