GHOST CITY(2d): Vince Cooper

Well High time i posted my own WIP.

Im a fan of matte work and photoshop is my place of expertise at the moment,
Im not really good enough for the 3d side yet.

Ive posted most of my work. Photography is a hobby of mine so i went round my city taken some shots where i could I wanted to go with the Half life theme but im not much for horror style. To hit it on the nail would be to suggest you watch a Stargate SG1 episode called nightwalkers. thats what i wanted. all about atmosphere.

I figgured after so many years the Government would want to know whats goin on inside this city thats been blasted to hell. I designed a Radiation suit that one of these troopers could wear. I know it looks a little Master chiefish. Its really a mish mash.
The helmet is from a tutorial i did in animation school. i reckoned it was cool so ive added that, plus the head lamps are similar to An astronauts helmet. If your walken through rubble youll want some sturdy tough boots.

The gun --- well lets say if you happen to come upon some mutant zombies lol u want kickass style multi purpose shotgun. the front end is styled from the real
FN2000. makers of the FN p90. (if you google it, very similar to the Assault rifle in halo1)

Ive done 1 so far and i promise some variations as i build up the squad.

For the city i tried a samwich of diferent photos, i threw it away due to -
1 i didnt like the viewpoint and in honesty it looked whacked its all about perspective.
2 my squad is about heroism so a emerge from dusty hell is in order and looked better front on. the side perspective didnt cut it for me.

Attention to detail is what i like so the dammage has to look good. Ive worked a bit for now. Its subtle in some places. U have to look hard. (sign in the left) and
in others its downright obvious.

At the moment its not incredibly much but you get the idea.
My technique is to work in B&W first then add colour later. Personal preference

Comments are much appreciated. Enjoy
