The view can be brought to life by adding some ships on the water, or some oldstyle flying baloons in the sky. There are some possibilities.

The first sketch is fully handpainted, only the human-made stuctures are photos (as it can be seen by the fact that they are a rough collage, just to give sense, scale and perspective). The refined parts in the work in progress is made by photo collages and ajusted by handpainted parts to blend together. The atmosphere and the light-mood is added by handpaint.
