| It is, but if the welding doesn't work instantly, change the (I don't know how it is exactly called, 3dsmax is not working properly at my pc right now) variable weldingspace. To say it clearer... sometimes the space between two vertices is bigger than the default weldingspace given by 3dsmax. You can change that default value so you can weld vertices with a bigger space between them anyway. I personally choose for an easier way that might help too.
first, delete the meshsmooth modifier.
second, convert the objects to editable poly. (I'll explain later why)
third, select the vertices you want to weld
fourth, search for the welding button...
you are supposed to see a popup menu with welding parameterd you can change. At the bottom of that popup menu you can see how much vertices you have. As soon as you change the variables with the up and down arrows, the amount of vertices will decrease when the variable is at the good amount....
Just wondering... are the wing and the hull two separate objects? If so, the problem can be solved even easier.
As for why I advice you to make the objects editable poly, is for the special welding options that aren't available in editable mesh. |
