The Story: Explosion of a nuclear reactor near the City-7 had led to absolutely unpredictable results. Radiation was spreading with incredibly fast speed striking all living beens on it's way. And only small part of the citizens was successfully evacuated in time. The rest were doomed. The city instantly became. It's hard to imagine such a picture – buildings and apartments, streets and cars, shops and trading centers were abandoned. Everything was left and it was obvious that people had taken only too valuable things they had trying to escape the catastrophe in panic. Nature elements were conquering City-7 day by day. Rains were washing out streets and roads, corroding metals. Winds were spreading radioactive garbage allover the side-streets and plazas. Buildings were peeling off, large glass windows were bursting without the human warm.
Exceeding any conceivable limits radiation doses hadn't killed citizens. Only few of them were lucky to die. The rest of them were doomed to a much more unpleasant fate. Mutations with unthinkable transforming power turned citizens, their pets and all the living of City-7 into something horrible. The only man from a rescue group survived after landing to an infected zone and got back lost the ability to speak. Such a reaction is fully explainable taking into account photos made by a rescuer. Though these photos were just a small part of the horror he had to pass through…
You would have to create an image that would illustrate City-7 view after instant evacuation, results of nature elements and mutations ruling the city for several years if you want to take part in the competition. You are free to use choose any CG mean to create an image in terms of the next three competition categories:
- 3D Environment – A 3D scene of a City-7 area should be created. The scene look should fully correspond to the goal of the competition. Scene modeling and arrangement skills will be judges besides the result (renderings and idea ).
- 2D Environment – Any 2D CG painting techniques may be used (including Matte-Painting) to paint a representative area of City-7.
- 3D Character – 3D character (a human, an animal or a plant) undergoing strong mutations and adopted to live in the abandoned city should be created. Character groups are also allowed to be created. Character modeling skills (geometry, texturing and materials) will be judges besides the result (renderings and idea) .
